Don't Eat Pete!

Matt bought some M&Ms a while ago so that he could teach “Don’t Eat Pete” to our kids. It’s a game that he used to play with his family when he was little. I’d never heard of the game until a few weeks ago. You put some M&Ms on a plate and the person whose turn it is, closes his/her eyes and everyone else chooses an M&M to be Pete. The other person opens his/her eyes and eats the M&Ms one by one until s/he is about to eat Pete. Then everyone yells “Don’t eat Pete!” and their turn is over.
Michael didn’t understand the game at all. He picked up the M&Ms so slowly and hesitantly, but he did enjoy eating it. He’d periodically clap for himself and when he got to Pete and we all yelled “Don’t eat Pete!” he ate it anyway.

Annie got a little better than Michael did. She’d pick up the M&Ms a little quicker and as you can see got down to having only 2 left. We finally got to yell “Don’t eat Pete” and I think she ate Pete too! Silly kids.

Collin was a riot to play with. He understood it a lot more and when we’d yell, he’d jump so high! This was such a fun game to play with our kids!
The thing that made it the most fun for me, was to see how much fun Matt was having playing this game that he played when he was little with his own children. It was so cute.
